Foreigners enter the territory of the Republic of Armenia through border-control points. For entry, a foreigner must have a valid passport, entry visa or a document of residency status unless Armenian laws or international agreements define no other procedure.

Minor foreigners may enter Armenia accompanied by parents, a parent or any other legal representative or if one arrives to his parents, a parent, other legal representative or a receiving organization.

If a foreigner arrives in Armenia without any valid identity document or visa or if he gets a refusal to obtain an Armenian visa he cannot enter the territory of the Republic of Armenia and must be returned to his country of origin or to the country he arrived to Armenia from unless the aim of arrival is to apply for asylum or refugee status.

Who Needs a Tourist Visa When Traveling to armenia?

List of countries whose nationals are unilaterally exempted from the requirement of obtaining a visa.

List of countries, with which Armenia has a visa-free regime according to bilateral and multilateral agreements.

Holders of all other national passports and travel documents, including UN Laissez-Passer, are required to obtain an entry visa.

Citizens of foreign countries for whom a visa-free regime is set can stay on the territory of the Republic of Armenia for no more than 180 days during one year if no other term is defined by the international agreements of the Republic of Armenia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia issues and extends Official and Diplomatic visas, as well as issues e-visas. Visitor and Transit visas are issued and extended by the Passport and Visa Department of the Police of Armenia.

Armenian visas are issued for a maximum of 120 days with the possibility to extend for another 60 days if no other term is defined by international agreements of the Republic of Armenia.

What Documents are Required When Applying for armenia Tourist Visa?

When applying for Armenia Tourist Visa, you must submit the following documents:

  • Visa application form. Fully completed with correct information, printed and signed at the end.
  • Two recent photos. Taken within the last three months, in compliance with the US visa photo criteria.
  • Valid passport. No older than ten years and with a minimum validity of three months beyond your planned stay in the United States. It must have at least two blank pages in order to be able to affix the visa sticker.
  • Roundtrip reservation or itinerary. A document that includes dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from the US.
  • Travel Health Insurance. Evidence that you have purchased health insurance that covers medical emergencies for your whole period of stay.
  • Proof of accommodation. Evidence that shows where you will be staying throughout your time in US.
  • Letter of tour organizer. If you will be travelling with a tour agency.
  • Proof of financial means. Evidence that shows you have enough money to support yourself throughout your stay in US. This could be a:
    • Bank account statement.
    • Sponsorship Letter.
    • A combination of both.
  • Evidence of employment status.
    • If employed:
      • Employment contract,
      • Leave permission from the employer
      • Income Tax Return
    • If self-employed:
      • A copy of your business license,
      • Company’s bank statement of the latest 6 months
      • Income Tax Return (ITR)
    • If a student:
      • Proof of enrollment &
      • No Objection Letter from University
  • Travel Itinerary. A description of your trip to US, your purpose of travelling, which places are you going to visit in US, the time frame and all the personal data.
  • For Minors:
    • Either birth certificate/proof of adoption/custody decree if parents are divorced / death certificate of parent
    • Letter of consent from parents, including passport copies of both parents/ legal guardian
